We are running for election to the District Board as a team dedicated to maintaining Kensington’s status as an independent community providing high quality services to its residents.
Earlier this year, we worked together to engage the voters in helping to decide whether Kensington’s Police Department should be contracted out to El Cerrito or the County Sherriff’s office. We spearheaded the petition drive which resulted in an ordinance requiring voter approval in advance of any contracting out of Kensington Police services. Measure G passed, giving us the financial stability needed to continue to support our own Police and Services District. We will bring the same level of hands-on commitment to maintaining Kensington’s unique character as an independent community with a high quality of life. Our philosophy is “Kensington First”. This is not just a slogan, but a pledge to act in the community’s best interests. As Directors, we will ensure that District funds are allocated responsibly to community priorities.
We bring combined decades of business and professional experience. All of us have been residents for over 30 years. Linda is a successful realtor, attorney, and KIC Board President. Tony is a management consultant with experience in corporate business operations, regulatory and public policy. He is a KCC Board Member. Paul is a business executive of a national insurance brokerage firm, an attorney, and a community volunteer for many years.
We decided to run as a team because we have worked well together in the past and share common goals for Kensington’s future and a commitment to work constructively with other Board members. We hope voters will support all three of us, but we are each committed to serve if elected.
We welcome input that will help to direct our priorities if elected as Directors.
